Why Boston you ask? Well… named after the lighthouse on Little Brewster Island at the entrance to Boston Harbour, this is known as a traditional American cocktail shaker, differing from a Parisian and Cobble shaker. Manufactured by the Boston steel company in the last century, who renamed them after their home city and made the connection to the lighthouse.
Boston’s are generally made up of two cups, one smaller than the other, held together which allow a drink to be mixed. Today a good silicone seal between the two makes this easier to use and measures marked onto the glass make a stylish and practical piece of bar kit.
400ml capacity and recipes on the glass for Margarita, Sex on the Beach, Cosmopolitan, Bloody Mary, Pina Colada and Mai Tai in addition to handy measurements.
